Commemorating a century of Arnett Library's service to the community, emphasizing significant
outreach efforts. To mark this achievement, we're collecting donations for outreach activities,
including interactive games to engage and entertain our neighbors.
FFRPL raises funds, presents programs, supports special spaces and projects, and purchases supplemental materials and equipment for the Rochester Public Library (RPL). In FY 2020-21, FFRPL provided $605,761 to RPL for projects such as
- Raising a Reader children's literacy
- Safe to be Smart afterschool programming for youth
- Central Library's Business Insight Center
- Central Library's Archive of Black History and Culture
- Exterior murals at the Arnett Branch Library
- Sculpture design for the Rundel Terrace
FFRPL raises funds through direct fundraising, grants and restricted donor gifts, proceeds from endowed/invested funds, and discretionary operational monies.
RPL consists of the Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County and ten city neighborhood branch libraries, serving 211,328 city residents. Central Library is the hub of the Monroe County Library System (MCLS), which contracts with RPL for the implementation and staffing of system services to serve 744,580 Monroe County residents.
Services provided by MCLS/RPL include:
- An integrated catalog and technical services
- Interlibrary loan, database development
- In-home and senior outreach services
- Shipping and delivery
- Consultant and advisory services
- Training, reference and information referral
- Digital transmission and internet access services
MCLS administration, information technology and shipping services all operate out of Central Library, with the data center serving as the hub for all networked services to the 32-member library locations.
